The history behind the ATE Lab

The Applied Thermal Engineering Laboratory (ATE Lab) has a long history of 90 years from 1924 when the Engineering Faculty was established in the Hokkaido Imperial University. This is one of the oldest laboratories for internal combustion engines in Japan. The current staffs of the ATE Lab are Professor H. Ogawa, Associate Professor G. Shibata, and Technical Instructor K. Yamazaki.
